Assignment: Regulation for Nursing Practice Staff Development Meeting

Nursing is a very highly regulated profession. There are over 100 boards of nursing and national nursing associations throughout the United States and its territories. Their existence helps regulate, inform, and promote the nursing profession. With such numbers, it can be difficult to distinguish between BONs and nursing associations, and overwhelming to consider various benefits and options offered by each.

Both boards of nursing and national nursing associations have significant impacts on the nurse practitioner profession and scope of practice. Understanding these differences helps lend credence to your expertise as a professional. In this Assignment, you will practice the application of such expertise by communicating a comparison of boards of nursing and professional nurse associations. You will also share an analysis of your state board of nursing.

To Prepare:

  • Assume that you are leading a staff development meeting on regulation for nursing practice at your healthcare organization or agency.
  • Review the NCSBN and ANA websites to prepare for your presentation.

The Assignment: (9- to 10-slide PowerPoint presentation)

Develop a 9- to 10-slide PowerPoint Presentation that addresses the following:

  • Describe the differences between a board of nursing and a professional nurse association.
  • Describe the geographic distribution, academic credentials, practice positions, and licensure status of members of the board for your specific region/area. (I’m from Florida)
    • Who is on the board?
    • How does one become a member of the board?
  • Describe at least one federal regulation for healthcare.
    • How does this regulation influence delivery, cost, and access to healthcare (e.g., CMS, OSHA, and EPA)?
    • Has there been any change to the regulation within the past 5 years? Explain.
  • Describe at least one state regulation related to general nurse scope of practice.
    • How does this regulation influence the nurse’s role?

What Is Septic Tank?

“Septic” or “septic” typically is used to describe the anaerobic bacteria environment that was created in Tank and decomposes to mineralizes domestic wastewater in the tank.

What exactly is septic tank Septic tank? It is a constructed in a scientifically sound underground chamber typically made of rcc, fiberglass, plain concrete, steel, or plastic. the domestic water, wastewater and fecal materials, excretory and toilet products flow into it to treat the primary source of waste material , which decomposes and transform into semi-solid or solid settleable liquid sludge.

In the United States, there are several types of ready-made Septic tanks that are available in the market. They include concrete septic tank plastic septic tank, as well as fibreglass septic tanks. Most well-known and widely used are concrete septic tanks for homes, based on the state and local rules and regulations.

When it comes to “what is a concrete septic tanks?”, concrete septic tank is a basic design, water-tight container constructed from RCC or plain concrete typically rectangular or circular in shape and available in one chamber, two chambers, or three chambers that are that are used to treat primary liquid waste.

The typical capacity ranges from 500 to 1250 gallons 500 gallon or 750 gallon tanks are adequate for a two-bedroom home or a 1000 gallon concrete tank is sufficient for a three bedrooms, and a 1250 gallon septic tank is sufficient for a four bedroom house or a family of four.

In this regard, “what is the septic tank?”, the septic tank is a single chamber or multi-chamber underground compartment that is composed out of RCC concrete fiberglass, plastic or steel used for the first-class treatment for domestic wastewater and fecal material as well as excretory products and toilets that

What is the septic tanks? Septic tank is an submerged sedimentation tanks for the primary treatment of household waste and fecal materials via the process of bioanaerobic digestion, or decomposition, which results in semi-solid or solid sludge that can be settled.

The majority of septic tanks for homes can hold between 4000 and 7500 millilitres or 1,000 – 2000 gals of effluent, or semi-solid sludge.

What Size of Septic Tank Do I Need?

In this article, we’ll be talking about underground septic tanks and the size is a reference to the tank’s total capacity for handling. Read our article about above ground septic tanks to get additional information about these tanks and the systems.

The minimum requirements for capacity of a septic tank are based on various variables. The state, county or city guidelines may require approved sizes , as can the material used for tank construction and its installation.

The local geography and soil conditions play a significant role in the effectiveness of the system, which could affect the size of drain fields and the size of the septic tank.

The type of septic tank intended for commercial or residential usage will impact the its size as per the guidelines; in this article, we’ll examine home usage. The specific system of septic tanks installed or to be put in place can alter the size of the tank required.

In essence the size of the septic tank required will be contingent of: (1) the specific kind of septic system; (2) the local regulations of government; (3) suitability of the soil geology in addition to (4) the anticipated volume of wastewater , based on the dimensions of the house.

How Does a Septic Tank Work?

A septic tank is any of one of three, two or four compartments, typically fourth compartment of the septic tank is used as a soak pits for water to run off and then goes into the soil. It is the first compartment that is used to receive waste water, second and 3rd compartments are utilized for anaerobic digestion waste.

The septic tank’s one end is connected to waste inlet water pipe. The other is connected with outlet pipe to allow overflow of water. Usually, pipes are with a T-shaped design, that allows waste water to pass through and stay there without disturbance.

What exactly does a septic system function?, a system of septic tanks work by anaerobic digestion, or decomposition of waste water and fecal matter through the actions of a variety of microorganisms like bacteria, which disintegrate it, and change the waste into a settleable semi-solid or solid sludge. Waste water flows into the primary chamber of the tank, which allows solid to settle, and scum to rise.

The solids that settle are then digested by anaerobic digestion, which decreases the amount of solid. The liquid component flows over the walls to divide it to the Second Chamber, where further settlement takes place . The surplus liquid that is now clean and dark colour comes out of the outlet pipe. It is pumped into the sewage or soak pit.

A series circuit is when the  electricity has a one way flow, this is powered by a conductor that runs  through one or two components.

The analogy that I choose is lights,  because it is close to the holidays I found that Christmas lights are a  form of series circuit. When you grab your Christmas lights and plug  them in to see if they come on and find out that half or the whole  strand is dead, what makes this happen?

The holiday lights are more commonly  known as series connection, if you take two bulb, one battery, and wire  together they should light up but once you remove one of these lights it  goes dark, you can do this with 10 to 20 bulbs in a row but once you  remove one bulb from the end or middle they go out. There is a wire  inside of the little bulbs that helps prevent the bulb from shorting  out, the current runs through the wire and not the filament which makes  the lights go out and light up.

What Is Hempcrete

What Is Hempcrete

What Is Hempcrete?

Hempcrete, also known as hemplime, is a biocomposite materialthat is a blend consisting of hemp hurds (shives) as well as lime, also known as pozzolans, that is utilized as a construction material and insulation. It is sold under various names such as Hempcrete, Canobiote, Canosmose, Isochanvre and IsoHemp.

Hempcrete is much easier for use than conventional lime mixes, and serves as an insulator as well as a moisture control. It does not have the brittleness of concrete, and therefore doesn’t require expansion joints.

It is a light insulation material that is suitable for all environments because it is able to combine the thermal mass and insulation.

How Strong is Hempcrete?

The force of hempcrete can be a fraction of the strength of concrete, which comes at 1 MPa, which means it’s not suitable as a base material, or in any situation that require it to bear loads.

It is resistant to cracking because of its low density. This makes it an appealing alternative to zones that are susceptible to earthquakes.

Hempcrete also breathes and allows the moisture to evaporate (no mold) it does not emit off-gas and is a safe choice for termites. The non-toxic, lightweight characteristics of hempcrete make it is simple to move around on a job site.

While hempcrete has been increasing in popularity but it’s not readily available. However, it has similar costs to other insulation options, and is expected to increase in price as the production volume increases.

The pulpy wood of hemp plants can also provide numerous possibilities for the green building industry. The majority of houses located in the United States rely on fiberglass insulation, which is a mix of recycled glass and plastic. However, research has revealed the fact that 9 of 10 households in the United States are also not properly insulated.

Insuring that our homes are well-insulated is a crucial strategy to increase efficiency in energy use. There are many better insulation products available that are available, ranging including wood-based insulation and wool-based insulation that is made from wool from sheep.

When combined with lime (as binding agent) and water hemp’s woody pulp provides a viable alternative to fiberglass insulation.

Prince Charles of the United Kingdom recently constructed the “Natural House” which is entirely built from wool from sheep as well as hemp insulation. It’s heated by only one wood stove.

What are The Advantages of Hempcrete?

Hempcrete breathes, which allows the moisture to evaporate (no mold) It does not emit off-gas and is not a target for termites.

The non-toxic and light properties of hempcrete make it’s easy to move around on a job site. Hempcrete doesn’t shrink and retains its constant temperature and also increases in strength as time passes.

What are The Disadvantages of Hempcrete?

Although this might not count as a major drawback, hempcrete can’t be utilized as a base because of its poor compressive strength. In the majority of cases, it is not a suitable material for load bearing.

An idea that requires the lightweight foundation can make use of hempcrete in lieu of concrete, if it is adhered to the local building codes and is endorsed through an engineer.

While research and development regarding hempcrete’s potential use are in the early stages but preliminary findings are positive.
